Handknit silk, cashmere, and wool wrap around shoulders at a Hawaiian beach

Wrap up Your Summer in the New Floaty Knit Wrap

The new Floaty Knit Wrap is elegant and as light as air — making it the perfect accessory for summer.

Handknit with a luxurious silk, cashmere, and merino wool blend yarn using large knitting needles, the resulting fabric is airy, drapey, and light enough to squish into an already-full beach tote.

Just having a Titanic (the movie) moment — but on a Hawaiian beach!

The Floaty Knit Wrap is Versatile Summer Style

The wrap is wide and long, with tapered ends, so it is super versatile to wear. For cool evenings at the beach, tie it around your neck for extra warmth.

When you want to cover your shoulders, wear it wrapped or draped.

I love it worn as a scarf with the tapered ends hanging down!

Handknit in Silk, Cashmere, and Wool

The yarn I chose for the Floaty Knit Wrap is Purl Soho’s Spindle, which is a lovely blend of silk, cashmere, and merino wool. It is a fine lace-weight yarn that has a base color and coordinating burrs or small bits of fiber that give it a rustic and tweedy look.

According to Purl Soho’s website, the merino wool used for this yarn meets the International Wool Textile Organization’s standards on Wool Sheep Welfare and is certified to ensure its quality and traceability. It is 80% sourced from Australia and the rest comes from New Zealand, South Africa, and Europe. The mill in Ireland adheres to European regulations that protect human health and the environment from harmful chemicals. The yarn is Woolmark and REACH certified (REACH for yarns.
