Exciting Things are On the Way in February 2024

I can’t believe it’s already February 2024 — time flies! Here are some random things I’m excited about this month.

Visit a New Fashion Exhibition in San Francisco

Fashioning San Francisco: A Century of Style opened at the De Young Museum last month and I can’t wait to go! The exhibition features a collection of 20th and 21st century women’s clothing — donated or on loan from Bay Area women — from designers such as Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Christopher John Rogers, Comme des Garçons, and Rodarte.

The exhibition also features Snapchat Augmented Reality Mirrors, which let visitors “try on” three featured designs. How cool is that?

Attend the Arts and Crafts Show in Marin

The Marin Arts and Crafts Show: The Handcraft of Design will be held from February 23 – 25 in San Rafael. I’ve never attended so this year will be my first! There will be more than 150 exhibitors showcasing handcrafted textiles, jewelry, paintings, specialty foods, woodwork, ceramics, etc.

The show runs from 10 am to 6 pm (Friday and Saturday) and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

Read a New Book

Whiskey Tender by Deborah Taffa will be released on February 27, 2024. I read a blurb about this new memoir about Native history, family legacy, and a search for identity in the New York Times and was intrigued. I have this on my to-read list!

Indulge in a Sweet Treat at a New Danville Bakery

Maison Benoit, a new French artisanal bakery, has landed in Danville. It just opened last month to rave reviews so I need to check it out!

Catch Netflix’s Drive to Survive and the Start of the F1 2024 Grand Prix Season

Season 6 of Netflix’s awesome series about Formula 1 (F1) racing, Drive to Survive, is scheduled to be released on February 23, 2024! I’ve watched all five of the previous seasons and they are amazing. I was never into F1 until I saw the series and now I am a fan. I’m looking forward to the start of the 2024 season, which begins on February 29 in Bahrain!
